Wildfire Ready: A Free Community Preparedness Event

Trinity Lutheran Church, 17750 Knollwood Dr. Monument, CO 80132. https://tri-lakescares.org/events/wildfire-ready/ Tri-Lakes Cares, in partnership with the Monument Fire District, invites community members to attend Wildfire Ready, a free public preparedness event designed to help residents prepare for wildfire season and protect their families, homes, and animals before an emergency occurs. Jonathan Bradley, Division Chief of Community Risk Reduction, Monument Fire Department, will provide expert guidance on wildfire preparedness and the steps residents can take to be “Ready, Set, Go!” before wildfire strikes. Topics will include: • Family evacuation planning • Animal and livestock evacuation preparedness • Creating an emergency evacuation plan and go-bag • Wildfire mitigation around the home • What to expect during an evacuation • Community questions and answers during a concluding Q&A session. “This event will provide practical information and expert insight to help families feel confident and prepared should an evacuation become necessary.” said Kendra Mullins, Case Manager at Tri-Lakes Cares. Wildfire Ready is part of Tri-Lakes Cares’ ongoing commitment to strengthening community resilience through education and collaboration. The event is free and open to the public, although advance registration is encouraged to help organizers plan for attendance.
