Stage II Fire Restrictions
Stage II is more restrictive than Stage I: it broadly prohibits open flame, campfires, charcoal grilling and most outdoor burning, with limited exceptions. See the Sheriff’s Office for the full list.

The Monument Fire District follows the El Paso County Sheriff’s restrictions shown above and sets the local rules for recreational fires, fire pits and open burning across the Tri-Lakes area. Slash-pile and other open burns require a county permit and prior notice to the District’s Fire Marshal. See the District’s burn regulations before lighting any fire.
