About the trackers
Each tracker is built and maintained by The Monument Independent and refreshes on its own schedule, without anyone retyping anything. They exist because some questions are asked often enough that answering them once, permanently, is better journalism than answering them repeatedly in prose.
What a forecast is, and is not
The Ford Amphitheater tool forecasts complaint response — how likely a night is to generate noise complaints in the neighborhoods north of the venue. It does not measure or predict decibels, and it ranks nights rather than predicting a number. Its accuracy against held-out data is published on the page, as is the fact that part of its input is editorial judgment about how much low-frequency energy an act produces.
Where the data comes from
Every tracker names its sources on its own page. Nothing here is scraped from a competitor’s reporting; the inputs are public records, published schedules, open weather data and, in the amphitheater’s case, a resident-operated complaint map whose limitations are set out in full.
