The Monument Independent has opened a Halloween headquarters for the Tri-Lakes: every trunk-or-treat, pumpkin patch, Oktoberfest and Halloween event we can verify, grouped by day and plotted on a map. It is free to read and free to be listed in, and it grows as hosts send things in.

Tri-Lakes Halloween Headquarters: an orange and black badge showing a jack-o-lantern, bats crossing a full moon, and pine trees reflected in a lake.

It opens with thirteen listings across Monument, Palmer Lake, Gleneagle and Black Forest: three trunk-or-treats, the Miners’ Pumpkin Patch on all five October Saturdays, and two Oktoberfests. Each entry carries its date, its times, what it costs where the host says so, and a link to whoever published it. Filter by the kind of night you are after or by where you are, and every pin on the map is listed underneath with its details.

If you are running something, send it to us. The form is short: the event name, the date, a start time, where it is, and a way to reach you. An editor checks it, and it then appears both on the guide and on the Independent’s community calendar. Listings are free and always will be.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and most Tri-Lakes hosts post their plans in October, by which point a family deciding how to spend the weekend has already decided. The point of putting the page up in September is to give those plans somewhere to land as they are made.
